Plot information and a air date for Jaime’s newest film, “Sandra Brown’s Smoke Screen”, has just been released! Sandra Brown’s Smoke Screen premiers Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on Lifetime Movie Network.

Smoke Screen is filled with twists and turns involving the police, firemen, judges, journalists, murder, conspiracy, corruption and a lot of secrets.

The film opens with Britt Shelley (Jaime Pressly), Charleston, South Carolina’s most notable television journalist, who wakes up in bed next to a dead policeman. Britt knows the man but has no recollection how she got into this situation. She is convinced she was given the date rape drug. When the coroner’s report says the policeman was murdered, Britt is the prime suspect.
Murder, Corruption, and Mystery

What makes this murder investigation even more important for the police department is that the dead cop was a hero. Several years earlier there was a fire in the police station and he, along with some of his friends, helped everyone get out before going back into the burning building to rescue a man who was under arrest inside the building. The man died at the scene, but everyone else made it out all right.

Britt is confused by the entire incident. The dead cop is the man who had given her a big story right after the fire. This story made her career and launched her into becoming Charleston’s most popular journalists. However, her story ruined the career of fireman Raley Gannon (Currie Graham), as it was about Raley waking up next to a dead woman. The story cast a shadow on Raley even though the death of the woman was ruled an accidental overdose But he was subsequently shunned by the community and his friends.

Britt is convinced she was drugged, but cannot prove it. Her situation is similar to the one Raley found himself in years earlier, a fact that does not escape Raley who is living off-the-grid in a log cabin in the woods.

Raley and Britt eventually team up to figure out what happened to both of them. As they try to fit the pieces of the puzzle together, they uncover some very interesting facts that lead them to the ultimate showdown.

The twists and turns in the film are interesting and the viewers most likely will not be able to put the pieces together before the characters! It is filled with intrigue.

Currie Graham (Raley) turns in an endearing performance. In the beginning his character is stand-offish, but as the story unfolds he becomes the man viewers will root for.

Jaime Pressly’s character Britt, however, is not as likeable as Raley. In the beginning she seems cold and distant, but as she starts to uncover the elaborate scheme she becomes more interesting and affable.

Graham is well-known to TV viewers and has appeared on many shows, most notably Law and Order, NYPD Blue, Suddenly Susan, House, Desperate Housewives, and Men in Trees.

Pressly is best known for her Emmy Award-winning performance in My Name is Earl.

Sandra Brown has authored 59 New York Times bestselling novels. Smoke Screen is her first bestseller to be made into a LMN Original movie.
